CASTLEFIELDS

Friday 4th to Sunday 6th June.
Various small expeditions into Manchester, including a fry up at a nice side street cafe opposite the Museum of Science and Industry. A friendly, properly trained, Policeman with two of Blunkett's bobbies in tow stopped for a chat. If they could learn anything from him, it will be a good example of how to talk to people and try to regain some of the lost ground. As far as I am concerned, it should always be a Police Force, not service; as that word, I feel, is in breach of the Trade Descriptions Act 1968 in the present method of application.

On Saturday, we caught the bus home; a direct service from the coach station to our village. We stayed overnight and returned on Sunday afternoon.

For some reason, this service is now using low floor buses instead of the usual heavyweight coaches; not comfortable for our two hour journey: it must be really uncomfortable for the passengers travelling to Nottingham which takes over four hours.
